PEPPERDINE OUTDOOR TRACK 2018 (FR): Ran at seven of the eight outdoor events ... Had the team’s second-best times in the 400 and 800 ... Ran 1:02.15 in the 400 at UC Irvine (3/17) and 2:22.67 in the 800 at UC San Diego (4/14).
 
PEPPERDINE INDOOR TRACK 2018 (FR): Took part in both indoor meets ... Ran the 800 twice, with a best of 2:34.58 at Boise State (2/3).
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Anacortes (Wash.) High School in 2017 ... Ran four years of both varsity cross country and track ... Earned All-Northwest Conference first team honors in cross country as a senior ... A three-time county champion and a state champion in the 4x400 relay in track as a senior ... Part of school-record times in the 4x200 and 4x400 ... School's valedictorian and on the athletic honor roll all four years.

PERSONAL: Born in Sechelt, B.C. ... Daughter of Anita Phillips and Randy Ruzich ... Has one sibling, Ethan ... Majoring in economics ... Chose to attend Pepperdine because it "has been my dream since I was 9 years old. I've always known it was the place for me because of the people, atmosphere, respected academic discourse, location and the opportunities in reach."
 
FAVORITES: Enjoys snowboarding, traveling, basketball and hiking ... Favorites include Sydney McLaughlin (pro athlete), Seattle Seahawks (pro sports team), the Shiver series (books), In Time (movie), Person of Interest (TV show), Frank Ocean (musical artist), spaghetti (food) and basketball (sport other than running) ... Favorite thing about running is "I love being able to track improvement down to tenths of a second. I love the team/family aspect of the sports, and I love the community."
