PEPPERDINE TRACK 2019 (SO): Took part in eight of 10 meets ... Moved to #3 on the program’s all-time list in the 1,500 meters with a 3:57.72 at Pomona-Pitzer (4/6), which was the team’s best time of the season in that event ... Part of the 4x400 relay team that set the school record (3:22.78 at Pomona-Pitzer on 4/6) ... Also competed in the 800 (best of 2:00.30 at UC Irvine on 3/16) and mile (best of 4:24.29 at UCLA on 3/29).
 
PEPPERDINE TRACK 2018 (FR): Ran at eight of nine meets ... Was part of a school-record 4x400 relay team ... Had the team’s best time in the 1,500, a 3:58/18 at UC San Diego (4/14), which came in at #3 on the Waves’ all-time list ... Saw his most races in the 800 with a best of 1:56.94 at Cal Poly (3/24) ... Attempted the 3,000-meter steeplechase once, going 10:32.67 at Riverside CC (3/3).
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Southridge High School, located in Beaverton, Ore., in 2017 ... Ran two years of varsity track ... Made the All-Metro League second team for the 4x400 relay ... Part of the school record 4x800 relay team ... Also lettered in water polo swimming ... Was all-state and the Metro League MVP in water polo.
 
PERSONAL: Born in Lake Oswego, Ore. ... Son of Ralph and Stephanie Halewyn ... Has one sibling, Madeline ... Majoring in advertising ... Chose to attend Pepperdine because "I wanted to go to college in California as well as pursue the opportunity to run in college while attending a school where I can achieve my academic and future goals."
 
FAVORITES: Enjoys snowboarding, longboarding and hiking ... Favorites include Jack Freestone (pro athlete), Portland Trail Blazers (pro sports team), Tuesdays With Morrie (book), White Collar (TV show), A$AP Rocky (musical artist), pizza (food) and water polo and swimming (sports other than running) ... Favorite thing about running is "that in the last two years the sport is new to me and is something I have come to love and enjoy."
