PEPPERDINE XC 2019 (JR): Competed in four of the six meets ... Had a season-best 8K of 28:23.0 at the Mark Covert Classic (8/31).
 
PEPPERDINE XC 2018 (SO): Competed at three events ... Season-best 8K of 28:10.1 at the Capital Cross Challenge (9/29).
 
PEPPERDINE XC 2017 (FR): Ran at the first four meets of the season ... Best 8K was 28:39.3 at the Capital Cross Challenge (9/30).
 
PEPPERDINE TRACK 2021 (SR): Competed at six of the eight regular-season races ... Raced in three different events, but mostly focused on the 5,000 ... Ran the 5,000 three times (best of 15:44.18 at Azusa Pacific on 4/3), the 1,500 twice (best of 4:07.20 at Azusa Pacific on 5/14) and the 800 meters once at Fresno Pacific (3/6).
 
PEPPERDINE TRACK 2020 (JR): Competed at both outdoor meets before the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic ... Ran the 800 meters twice.
 
PEPPERDINE TRACK 2019 (SO): Took part in nine of 10 meets ... Had bests of 2:00.28 in the 800 at Pomona-Pitzer (4/6) and 4:11.53 in the 1,500 at UC Irvine (3/16) ... Also ran the mile once.
 
PEPPERDINE TRACK 2018 (FR): Competed at seven of nine meets ... Ran almost exclusively in the 800, with a best of 2:03.12 at UC San Diego (4/14) ... Also ran the mile once.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from John Burroughs High School, located in Burbank, Calif., in 2017 ... Ran two years of both varsity cross country and track ... Ran the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 in track ... Went to the state championship in cross country both seasons ... Cross country and track teams won Pacific League titles ... Also lettered in soccer.
 
CLUB: Ran for O'Brians Army XC for four years ... Won a 2016 national championship at Junior Olympics.
 
PERSONAL: Majoring in sports medicine ... Born in Los Angeles, Calif. ... Son of Leila Wells and Mike Wells ... His father ran cross country and track at CSUN ... His twin brother Tim is a fellow freshman on the Pepperdine cross country/track teams ... Also competes in the duathlon and was a 2016 national champion who also placed 10th at the duathlon world meet ... Chose to attend Pepperdine because "I like the small school feeling and how people will know you."
 
FAVORITES: Enjoys soccer, hiking and paddleboard ... Favorites include Billy Mills (pro athlete), BMC Cycling Team (pro sports team), Unbroken (book), Rocky (movie), NCIS (TV show), Coldplay (musical artist), acai (food) and cycling (sport other than running) ... Favorite thing about running is "that you control your race and no one else does. It is just you out there."
