PEPPERDINE XC 2017 (FR): Competed at the first five meets of the season ... Was the Waves' #3 runner at both the Pepperdine Invitational and the Capital Cross Challenge ... Was the #4 runner at the WCC Championships ... Had a season-best 6K of 23:33.1 at the UC Riverside Invitational (9/16).
 
PEPPERDINE OUTDOOR TRACK 2018 (FR): Ran at seven of eight outdoor meets ... Ran the 800, 1,500 and mile, each multiple times ... Had bests of 2:27.90 in the 800 at UC San Diego (4/14), 5:11.01 in the 1,500 at Cal Poly (3/24) and 5:40.56 in the mile at Westmont (2/17).
 
PEPPERDINE INDOOR TRACK 2018 (FR): Took part in both indoor meets ... Had the team’s best time in the 800, a 2:33.34 at Boise State (2/3).
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Saint Charles (Ill.) East High School in 2017 ... Ran three years of varsity cross country and two of track ... Served as a team captain in track as a senior ... Ran the 400, 800 and 1,600 meters ... Also lettered in basketball.
 
PERSONAL: Born in Winfield, Ill. ... Daughter of Phillip and Britta Battin ... Her mother ran track at Western Illinois ... Has four siblings: Christian, Abby, Truitt and Grace ... Her older brother Christian and her twin sister Abby also attend Pepperdine ... Went on a 2013 mission trip to Brazil ... Majoring in pre-business administration ... Chose to attend Pepperdine because "I wanted to further my faith in God and I knew I could do that at Pepperdine. I also knew it would challenge me both academically and athletically to push me to be my best. The school is beautiful and the cross country program and coach are amazing."
 
FAVORITES: Enjoys sewing, photography and bible study ... Sports hero is Michael Jordan ... Favorites include Simone Biles (pro athlete), Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks (pro sports teams), Between Sundays (book), God's Not Dead (movie), Friends (TV show), Need to Breathe (musical artist), fettuccine alfredo with chicken (food) and tennis, basketball and biking (sports other than running) ... Favorite thing about running is "the friendships that I have made. I have been in many other sports, but only in cross country and track was there truly a team atmosphere and family. I also love running because I like mentally and physically challenging myself to push beyond my limits to do my best."
