Livermore, Calif. — Another Pepperdine track record went down at the West Coast Distance Carnival on Saturday, courtesy of junior Karl Winter's 1:51.47 in the 800-meter dash.
Winter (Stockton, Calif./Saint Mary's HS) now owns Pepperdine's track records for every metric distance from the 800 meters up to the 5K. This is the sixth school record set this year, and the third by Winter.

Elsewhere in the 800 meters, Ryan Hemphill (Visalia, Calif./Redwood HS) placed eighth overall with a 1:57.93. Senior Brandon Davis (Troy, Mich./Troy HS) ran a season-best in the same event with a 2:00.71.

Running unattached, sophomore Olivia Miller (Tallahassee, Fla./Lawton Chiles HS) ran a season-best 2:23.03 in the women's 800-meter dash.

Over in the 5K, Skyler Danley (Easton, Pa./Easton Area HS) placed fifth out of 21 runners in her heat. She finished in 19:02.63. In the men's 5K, Nathaniel Lerch (Clarion, Pa./Clarion Area HS) ran a 16:29.30.

In the first 1,500-meter dash of her collegiate career, Elle Shrader (Boerne, Texas./Boerne-Samuel V. Champion HS) ran a 5:25.30.

On the men's side, Johnathan Flint (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound HS) led the way with a 4:05.31, which was 19th overall. Fellow freshman Austin Gromer (Casper, Wyo./Mountain View HS) nearly eclipsed his collegiate PR with a 4:16.76
