Track Breaks Three Program Records at MPSF Indoor Championships

RENO, Nev. –  Pepperdine track concluded its two days of action in the MPSF Indoor Championships today. While in the Tahoe region, Lizzy Crawford and Ashley Eagan set individual records while Annie Trapp, Mia Skuraton, Lia Cooper, and Lexi Thomas combined for the Waves 4x400 relay record.

"This weekend was very successful," said head coach Lauren Floris. "I'm incredibly proud of our women, every single one of them that stepped on the track stepped up in a big way! There were lots of PRs and season bests which is impressive when the stakes are so high. It was also great to see Lizzy, Ashley, Annie, Mia, Lia and Lexi come away with new school records. We are rolling into outdoor with lots of positive momentum."

Lizzy's second-place finish in the 5K (16:51.31) also helped put Pepperdine on the board with eight points. This improved upon her previous Waves-best of 16:58.63.

2026's eight points is the most the blue and orange have ever scored at MPSFs. Lizzy Crawford's prowess in the 5K responsible has been responsible for each and every one. Last year she finished sixth in the event (17:14.16) to net the inaugural three points in the team's history.

Ashley Eagan kicked-off day two by taking the 800 meter program record. She finished in the top-15 with a time of 2:15.52. It bested the old record which she herself set this Valentine's Day (2:15.88).

Breaking records is nothing new for these two. This season they have set a new highmark in each of the three meets so far. Eagan signed her name to the indoor mile (5:04.88) back in January, with Crawford's other record coming in the indoor 3K (9:52.04) this February.

The squad of Trapp, Skuraton, Cooper, and Thomas clocked the 4x400 relay record at 3:55.20. Lexi featured on the previous record's team (3:55.25) in 2025. Both the old time and five millisecond improvement came at MPSFs.

Top Wave finishers in the other events of Monday were as follows:

Mile: Grace Simpson (5:13.04)

400 dash: Lexi Thomas (58.75)

3K: Emma Martinez (11:47.78)

UC Irvine won the event with 132.50 points. The full results can be found here.

Santa Barbara, Calif. next plays host to Pepperdine, when they travel to the 805 for the Gaucho Relays March 7.
