THE COMPETITION — Pepperdine leads Pacific all-time with a 17-15 record, playing the Tigers for the fewest times amongst all other league competitors.  The Waves first won four-straight from 1977-79 before the Tigers took the team's first win in 1979 before going on a 10-match winning streak.  Pepperdine went 10-2 against Pacific from 2003-17, losing only twice in both matches in 2014.  Last season, each team took the home matchup with the Waves winning 3-1 in Firestone Fieldhouse and the Tigers winning in five in Stockton.

The Waves have an impressive 49-15 all-time record against Saint Mary's, playing the first match in 1987 and winning 3-0 before going on a 14-match winning streak.  SMC took a lone five-set win in 1994, but Pepperdine was quick to recover and go on another streak of 19-consecutive matches.  After some back-and-forth from 2004 to 2016, the Waves have won five-straight including a pair of sweeps last season.
