Raymond Claims WCC Women's Volleyball Freshman of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Pepperdine women's volleyball freshman setter Tristen Raymond received West Coast Conference (WCC) Freshman of the Week, announced today by the conference.

It marks the first Freshman of the Week recognition for Raymond, who previously earned a pair of WCC Setter of the Week honors throughout the season.

A native of Peoria, Ariz., Raymond helped the Waves to a pair of victories to close out the season, as the Waves swept Gonzaga on Wednesday before claiming a 3-1 win over Saint Mary's on Saturday.

Raymond posted 32 assists in each game, marking her 10th and 11th efforts this season with 30-plus assists. She added double-digit digs in each contest, logging 13 against Gonzaga and then 10 versus Saint Mary's. Raymond also recorded nine kills against the Gaels, the second-highest single game total for her this season.

On the season, Raymond ranks fourth in the WCC with 749 assists, settling into a key role for the Waves during her debut campaign. She also totaled 272 digs, 133 kills, 73 blocks and 40 service aces throughout the season.
