PLAY-BY-PLAY
After falling behind 4-0 to open the match, the Waves slowly rallied back in the first, eventually tying the score at 15-15 with a pair of kills from Tarah Wylie and Blossom Sato.  After tying it up, Shannon Scully put the Lions on edge with a strong serving output and featured kills from Hannah Frohling earned the first Waves' lead of the set.  After a 10-10 tied score, Hana Lishman and Sato each put in solid service performances to help Pepperdine get the edge once again and a solo block from Heidi Dyer and final smash from Wylie ended the set with a 25-21 result in the Waves' favor.

The second set opened evenly on each side, but some big kills from Alli O'Harra and Wylie, along with an ace from Scully helped the cause.  After a 10-10 tied score, block collaborations from Wylie, Scully and O'Harra, Dyer put Pepperdine on path for an 11-2 run to pull ahead.  Although the opposition attempted to close the gap, kills from Dyer late in the action won the set 25-19.

In the third set, the Waves were fueled by the first two wins and jumped out to a solid 11-7 start with kills from Scully and a block from O'Harra, Sato.  LMU stayed close behind, though, and eventually tied the set at 22's late in the action.  A kill from Scully and an ace from Wylie earned a match-point opportunity for Pepperdine and it would not go to waste.  Scully ended the match with her 14th-smash of the day to win the set 25-23 and secure the PCH Cup sweep.
