Senior Megan Woods Named to NSCAA/adidas All-American Third Team

Malibu, Calif. - Pepperdine senior forward Megan Woods, who turned in the second-most prolific season in school history during the 2005 campaign, was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas All-American third team, it was recently announced.

Woods, who totaled 34 points with 12 goals and 10 assists, becomes the third player in Pepperdine history to earn All-American recognition. She joins defenders Susan Palmer (2001) and Ashley Swanson (2002). Swanson also received honorable mention in 2004.

The senior from Carlsbad, Calif., ranked among the Top 10 in the West Coast Conference (WCC) in points, goals and assists.

Woods led a Pepperdine team that made its fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and advanced to the "Sweet 16" for the second time in school history. The Waves finished the year ranked No. 16 by Soccer Buzz and No. 18 in the final NSCAA poll.

Woods concluded her Pepperdine career ranked second on the school's all-time lists in points (85) and goals (31) while tying for second in assists with 23.
