The Pepperdine women's soccer team, coming off a "Sweet 16" appearance at the NCAA Championships a year ago, signed five players to National Letters-of-Intent, head coach Tim Ward announced.
Joining the program in the Fall of 2003 will be midfielders Allison Bernstein (Oak Park, CA / Oak Park HS), Jennifer Brewer (La Mirada, CA / La Mirada HS) along with defenders Caitlin Mitchell (San Carlos, CA / Notre Dame HS), Courtney Nelson (Alamo, CA / Monte Vista HS) and Lindsey Redlin (Reseda, CA / Chatsworth HS).
The five new recruits join a Pepperdine team that concluded the 2002 campaign with an 18-2-2 overall record, finished as co-champions of the West Coast Conference (WCC), advanced to the "Sweet 16" of the NCAA Tournament and was ranked in the Top 10 nationally in all four major soccer polls.
The Waves have also added junior midfielder Diana Sanguinetti, who transferred from Long Beach State, to their roster. Sanguinetti received All-Big West Conference (BWC) honorable mention as a sophomore after earning first team honors as a freshman in 2001.
