Women’s Soccer’s Quinonez Earns West Coast Conference Weekly Honor

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Pepperdine women's soccer (5-4-1, 2-0 WCC) earns the first conference award of the season as Julia Quinonez notches Offensive Player of the Week.

As the Waves begin WCC play 2-0, the Torrance, Calif. native scored three goals with a brace against Seattle Saturday. Scoring in the last four matches with five goals, Quinonez has matched her most productive season two years ago just two matches into conference play.

Her freshman year, with six goals and three assists, Quinonez earned WCC Freshman of the Year as she is currently on track to compete for Player of the Year. Leading the conference, the junior has a total of 15 points and is tied for first in goals with six.

Nationally, Quinonez is ranked 48th in points per game and 53rd in goals per game.

This is the first conference award for Pepperdine this season. The last honor came October 28 last year when Jillian Medvecky earned Defensive Player of the Week.

Up next, the Waves skip the midweek match before welcoming the Pacific Tigers to Malibu Saturday, Oct. 4. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. as Pepperdine hosts their alumni match. Lynn Biyendolo shirts will be given to the first 100 fans in attendance as she is being honored as an inductee into the Pepperdine Athletics Hall of Fame later that evening. The live stream will be on ESPN+ (subscription required) and live stats will be available on pepperdinewaves.com.
