PEPPERDINE OUTDOOR TRACK 2019 (JR): Ran at two meets ... Bests of 2:32.66 in the 800 at the Ben Brown Invitational (3/9) and 5:50.93 in the mile at UC Santa Barbara (2/16) ... Did not compete at any indoor meets.
PEPPERDINE TRACK 2018 (SO): Did not compete this season.
PEPPERDINE OUTDOOR TRACK 2017 (FR): Ran at the first five outdoor meets ... Ran the 400 and the 800 twice and the 1,500 and the mile once each ... Best 400 was 1:07.38 at Cal Poly (3/25) and best 800 was 2:37.56 at Westmont (2/18) ... Did not run at either indoor meet.
PEPPERDINE XC 2016 (FR): Ran at all six meets ... Was Pepperdine's #4 runner at both the WCC Championships (10/28) and NCAA West Regional (11/11) ... Best 6k time was 23:51.2 at the Bronco Invitational (10/15).
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Fillmore (Calif.) High School in 2016 ... Ran four years of varsity track and three of cross country ... Tri-Valley League champion in the 3,200 meters as a junior ... Also earned all-league second team honors in the 1,600 and qualified for the CIF Finals ... Made the all-league second team in cross country as a junior ... A Ventura County Scholar-Athlete of the Year ... On the honor roll.
PERSONAL: Born in Ventura, Calif. ... Daughter of Alicia and Jose Luis Perez ... Has one brother, Jose ... Chose Pepperdine because of "its safe campus, small campus size and family feeling when I met the cross country/track team. Also, because I know it's tough getting admitted, I will get the best education and will be guided to success."
FAVORITES: Enjoys watching movies, going on bike rides, singing and shopping ... Favorites include The Last Song (book), She's the Man (movie), Criminal Minds (TV show), Luke Bryan (musical artist), chicken tenders (food) and volleyball (sport other than running) ... Favorite thing about running is "the individuality of the sport because it triggers my competitive side and I feel that conquering the races strengthens my character."
