5/7/2026 10:00:00 AM | Track
AZUSA, Calif. – Pepperdine track's last scheduled meet of the season is this week. On Friday and Saturday the team will race in the Franson Last Chance, hosted by Azusa Pacific. It will provide Wave runners with one final opportunity to qualify for the NCAA West Preliminaries.Â
"The conditions this weekend look ideal," head coach Lauren Floris said. "We're expecting solid performances across the board."
Times will be updated in real-time on Finished Results. A paywalled stream will also be available, with the meet central providing further information.
Pepperdine is set to compete in the following events:
Friday
Women's 100m hurdles — 2:00 p.m.Â
Men's 100m prelims — 3:00 p.m.Â

Men's 1500m — 6:45 p.m.Â
Men's 3000m steeplechase — 8:20 p.m.Â
Annie Trapp and Brittany Rivas will hurdle for the Waves. Trapp will compete in the 100m and 400m, while Rivas will race just the latter.Â
Kian Alton will be the lone male sprinter for Pepperdine, running in the 100m, 200m, and 400m. Alton's solo status will be anything but the case in the men's 800m, featuring an impressive eight Waves. Parker Buchheit, Ryan Fabian, Henry Hicks, Colin Knowles, Kaleb McElfish, Alex Nield, Beckett Sullivan, and Daniel Whitaker have all entered their name into the event.
The women's 800m will be contested by Ashley Eagan and Kennedy Duralde. Eagan is also set for the 1500m, alongside Grace Simpson and Renee Skiera. The busiest event for the women's team is by far the 200m—Lia Cooper, Livi Grecco, Ava Maly, Adison Moore, Kelly Prunzik, Mia Skuraton, and Lexi Thomas will race. Grecco, Maly, Moore, Prunzik, and Skuraton will also compete in the 100m, while Cooper, Thomas, and Isabella Reyes round out the women's sprint events in the 400m.
The distance events will feature a batch of Waves, too. The men's 5K will feature Rowan Nilsen, Dominic Silhol, and Patrick Thomas, while the women's 5K will be a Lizzy Crawford solo run. Hicks, McElfish, Thomas, and the Nilsen twins will run the 1500m Saturday night. Elijah Gentry will save his legs for the 3000m steeplechase, the only event the sophomore is set to compete in.Â
There will be two relay teams, the women's 4x100m and 4x400m.
Pepperdine runners aim to record times that will situate them in the NCAA Division I West Region's top 48. If they maintain this spot come May 18 they will qualify for the NCAA West Preliminaries in Fayetteville, Ark. Lizzy Crawford (10K), Elijah Gentry (3000m steeplechase), and Parker Buchheit (800m) all occupied top-30 regional spots earlier in the season. If a Wave were to end the regular season meeting the aforementioned requirements, they would join Karl Winter as the lone Waves to qualify for the honor. Prelims are set for May 27-30.Â
