
Track Set for Competition in Bryan Clay and Leopard Invitationals

MALIBU, Calif. — Pepperdine track will head east for a pair of meets. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will see the Waves compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. The 16th and 17th will also play host to the Leopard Invitational in La Verne, Calif.
"This is one of our favorite weekends of the year!" head coach Lauren Floris said. "Every race at Bryan Clay is made up of athletes that have run similar times and are ready to take things to the next level, and our kids always rise to the occasion!"
Results for the APU-hosted event will be posted to Finished Results. The meet can also be streamed on FloTrack for subscribers. Other pertinent information can be accessed at this website.Â

Ava Maly, Adison Moore, Kelly Prunzik, and Mia Skuraton will represent the Waves in the 100m. Maly and Moore will also run in the 200m. Isabella Reyes, Kennedy Duralde, and Ashley Eagan will run for the women in the 800m. Eagan, as well as Grace Simpson and Renee Skiera are set to compete in the 1500m. Lizzy Crawford and Brielle McClarnon will go the distance in the 5K. Brittany Rivas will be the only Waves hurdler—registered for the 400m. There will be one team in the 4x100 and 4x400m relays.Â
On the men's side, Kian Alton will sprint in the 400m. The 800m will be busy, with Parker Buchheit, Ryan Fabian, Henry Hicks, Colin Knowles, Kaleb McElfish, Alex Nield, Beckett Sullivan, and Daniel Whitaker all set to run. Elijah Gentry, McElfish, alongside Gordy and Rowan Nilsen will take on the 1500m. The twins are also scheduled to run in the 5K. Patrick Thomas and Dominic Silhol will represent Pepperdine in the 10K. Elijah Gentry will be the sole representative for the Waves in the 3000m steeplechase.
Buchheit, Crawford, Eagan, Gentry, and the women's 4x400m team will look to break program marks while Beckett Sullivan aims to qualify for the u20s in the 800m (1:51.60 needed).Â

Avery Smith and Leah Heckmann take on the 800m run. The first burn for the men's team comes in the 800m, with Micah Brighton scheduled to compete. Potter and Grecco will return to run in the 200m dash.Â
Friday begins with the 400m dash, with Lexi Thomas and Jenna Parsio representing the Waves. Giovannia Coronado will compete in the same event, but for the men. Kayla Renner and Annie Trapp will hurdle in the 400m. The 1500m has healthy team representation with Hannah Renager, Riley Burgess, and Hannah Miller all running. Once again, Brighton will run the same distance for the men's team. The squad's time in La Verne ends in the 5K, with Jessica Guardino, Emma Martinez, and Lacey Reedy closing out the meet.Â
The Waves resume their schedule with the second-ever Waves Expo on Friday, April 24th, hosted on campus. The team will compete in a variety of non-NCAA events, with fans welcome to join multiple community races, beginning at 4 p.m.
ABOUT PEPPERDINE CROSS COUNTRY/TRACK
The Pepperdine cross country/track program has a rich history dating back to the 1950s with six total individual national championships to come through the program. As one of the original three programs sponsored by then George Pepperdine College in 1937, the Waves immediately began to make a mark on the track world stage with eight total Olympians and multiple regional champions throughout the program's history.Â
