LA JOLLA, California – The Pepperdine track teams continued to have a strong outdoor performance, and
Ryan Hemphill broke his own school record that he set a week ago in the men's 800 meters at the Triton Invitational on Saturday.
Hemphill (Visalia, Calif./Redwood HS), a sophomore, beat his own school record in the men's 800 meters in a time of 1:50.98, which was good for fourth place. Hemphill's time was 0.36 seconds faster than his previous record which was 1:51.34 at last week's CSUN Invitational.
Freshman
Colin Proctor (Coppell, Texas/Coppell HS) collected a first-place finish in his heat in the 800 meters crossing the line at 1:55.61 and also secured his name at sixth on the Pepperdine all-time list. Sophomore
Nathaniel Lerch (Clarion, Pa./Clarion Area HS) also ran in the 800 meters, notching a third-place finish in his heat in a time of 2:12.87. Sophomore
Johnathan Flint (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound HS) competed in the men's 1,500 meters marking his name second in his heat clocking in at 3:47.71, which is also good for second on the Pepperdine all-time list. Senior
Kyle McCabe (Westminster, Colo./Holy Family HS) collected a fourth-place finish in the 1,500 meters in a time of 3:58.92, which also marks his name ninth on the Pepperdine all-time list.
Freshman
Thomas Lewer (Steamboat Springs, Colo./Steamboat Springs HS) had a second-place finish in the men's 400-meter hurdles in a time of 57.64. Lewer currently holds the school record in the 400-meter hurdles. Freshman
Matthew Covaci (Riverwoods, Ill.) also had a second-place finish in his heat in the men's 100 meters coming in at 12.55. Covaci also had a fourth-place finish in his heat in the 200 meters in a time of 26.49.
On the women's side, junior
Olivia Miller (Tallahassee, Fla./Lawton Chiles HS) marked her name first in her heat in the women's 800 meters and ninth on the Pepperdine all-time list, crossing the finish line at 2:20.05. Senior
Alicia Oumsang (Rochester, N.H./Spaulding HS) also had a first-place finish in the 200 meters in her heat, clocking in at 29.91. Oumsang also had a second-place finish in her heat in the 100 meters in a time of 14.18. Freshman
Megan LaCamera (Burbank, Calif./Burbank HS) was the top performer for the Waves in the 1,500 meters finishing in a time of 10:21.94, which was good for seventh place and also marked her name sixth on the Pepperdine all-time list.
Freshman
Leah Dixon (Reno, Nev./Damonte Ranch HS) represented the Waves in the women's 400-meter hurdles finishing in a time of 1:15.66, which was good for second place in her heat. Dixon also competed in the 100-meter hurdles collecting a time of 18.56. Junior
Skyler Danley (Easton, Pa./Easton Area HS) raced in the 1,500 meters and had a third-place finish in a time of 4:53.07.
Freshman
Maddy Ortman (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Valor Christian HS) marked a third-place finish in her heat in the 400 meters, running in a time of 1:03.92. Freshman
Abigail Howard (Jefferson, Ga./Jefferson HS) also had a third-place finish in her heat in the 100 meters coming in at 13.67. Howard also had a fourth-place showing in her heat in the 100-meter hurdles, etching a time of 16.72.
Both the men and women competed in the 4x400m relay, collecting fifth and sixth-place finishes. The men that represented the Waves, marking a fifth-place finish in a time of 3:23.66, were senior

Jakob Knox (Bend, Ore./Bend Senior HS). On the women's side, notching a sixth-place finish in a time of 4:09.55 was senior

The Waves will compete in the Cal State LA Twilight Open on Thursday, April 14, and also in the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif., on Friday, April 15.
