Five Waves Earn All-MPSF Honors

MALIBU, California – Five members of the Pepperdine men's volleyball team received postseason honors from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation on Tuesday, highlighted by Bryce Dvorak and Austin Wilmot on the second team.
Additionally, Jaylen Jasper, Jacob Steele and Spencer Wickens received honorable mention status.
Dvorak (Newport Beach, Calif./Corona del Mar HS), a sophomore libero, made the All-MPSF second team for the second year in a row. He ranks second in the league in assists (10.76) and aces (0.52).
Wilmot (Valley Village, Calif./Crespi Carmelite HS/UC Irvine), a graduate middle blocker, collected his third consecutive All-MPSF second team award. He ranks second in the league in blocks (1.02) and is sixth in hitting (.418), and also averages 1.74 kills.
Jasper (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck Senior HS/Stanford), a graduate opposite, picked up his fourth All-MPSF award, but his first with the Waves. He made the first team in 2018 and 2020 and the second team in 2019 with the Cardinal. He ranks fifth in the league in kills (3.66) and points (4.35).
Steele (Trabuco Canyon, Calif./El Toro HS), a redshirt sophomore outside hitter, made the honorable mention squad for the second straight year. He's averaging 2.75 kills and 0.92 digs.
Wickens (Irondequoit, N.Y./McQuaid Jesuit HS), a graduate outside hitter/libero, made the All-MPSF first team last year. Splitting time between the two positions, he's averaging 2.11 kills and 1.44 digs this season.
The eighth-ranked Waves (16-9, 7-5) are the #3 seed at this week's MPSF Tournament. They'll face #6-seeded BYU on Wednesday (April 20) at 5 p.m. at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion. FloVolleyball will provide live streaming.

All-MPSF second team: Bryce Dvorak (Pepperdine), Lucas Frassrand (USC), Guy Genis (UCLA), Chris Hall (USC), Christian Janke (Grand Canyon), Sam Kobrine (USC), Austin Wilmot (Pepperdine).
All-MPSF honorable mention: Owen Chun (Concordia), Ido David (UCLA), Ethan Hill (Stanford), Jaylen Jasper (Pepperdine), Justin Lui (Stanford), Cole Paxson (USC), Jacob Steele (Pepperdine), Kyle Thompson (Grand Canyon), Spencer Wickens (Pepperdine).
MPSF All-Freshman team: Ido David (UCLA), Guy Genis (UCLA), Max McCullough (Concordia), Miks Ramanis (BYU), Nic Slight (Grand Canyon), Grant Sloane (UCLA), Teon Taylor (BYU).
