GREENWOOD, Ind. – Pepperdine men's volleyball had incoming junior Cole Hartke recognized with a second-team Scholar All-American honor, the College Sports Commission announced Wednesday morning.
Hartke maintains a 3.81 in the classroom while being a two-time All-American on the volleyball court. As the sixth Academic All-American in program history, it is the first since Alex Harthaller in 2018.
The rising junior earned a first team All-American nod earlier this year after leading the nation in kills per set. This accolade joins the second team All-American award he garnered after his MPSF Freshman of the Year campaign.
Hartke is the only Pepperdine athlete to receive a men's at-large Academic All-American award this year as well as the only men's volleyball athlete across all of Division I.
