MALIBU, California – Pepperdine middle blocker
Austin Wilmot, a two-time All-American, has been named to the USA Volleyball team that will compete at the upcoming Men's NORCECA Continental Championship.
The tournament is set for August 18-21 in Durango, Mexico. The U.S. are in Pool B along with Cuba, Dominican Republic and Guatemala. Pool A consists of Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Trinidad & Tobago.
Wilmot (Valley Village, Calif./Crespi Carmelite HS/UC Irvine) had spent a portion of the summer at USA Volleyball training camp in Anaheim as part of the Men's Collegiate National Training Team.
Wilmot, who graduated this spring, is utilizing a COVID-19 redshirt year to come back and play an extra year with the Waves in 2022.
He was named to the AVCA All-American second team in 2021 and was an honorable mention selection in 2020, his first season with the Waves. He made the All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation second team both years. This past season, he averaged 2.17 kills per set and ranked 11th nationally in both hitting (.434) and blocks (1.10). He helped the Waves reach the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

Joe Karlous (Costa Mesa, Calif./Newport Harbor HS).
Pepperdine concluded the 2021 season ranked #5 in the country. The Waves went 13-7 overall, finished third in the MPSF regular season, was the runner-up at the MPSF Tournament and competed in the opening rounds of the NCAA Championships.
