Twelve Waves Receive MPSF All-Academic Honors

MALIBU, California – Twelve members of the Pepperdine men's volleyball team received Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic honors today.
Pepperdine's honorees were Akin Akinwumi, JT Ardell, Noah Dyer, Alex Gettinger, JT Martin, Auden McCaw, Zac Norvid, Mike Scott, Jacob Steele, Ben Weinberg, Spencer Wickens and Austin Wilmot.
To qualify, student-athletes needed a 3.00 grade-point average or better, to be at least a sophomore academically and to have completed one full academic year at their institution prior to the start of the season. This year, the participation minimum was removed.
Dyer received MPSF All-Academic honors for the fourth time. It's the third such award for Wickens, while Ardell, Gettinger and Steele all earned it for the second time. The other seven Waves were honored for the first time.
Pepperdine concluded the 2021 season ranked #5 in the country. The Waves went 13-7 overall, finished third in the MPSF regular season, was the runner-up at the MPSF Tournament and competed in the opening rounds of the NCAA Championships.
