WAVEPOINTS
• The Pepperdine men's basketball team has two games left as part of this four-game homestand before Christmas, and next up is Tuesday night's visit by Portland State.
• The Waves won the first three meetings in this series and the Vikings have won the last three.
• Colbey Ross set Pepperdine's career record for assists on Saturday vs. Central Arkansas with his 495th. He also became the first Wave (men's or women's) to record 500 career assists. Ross has more career assists than any junior in the country (second place is 70 assists behind).Â
• Ross is averaging a WCC-best 7.5 assists per game. Nationally, he's tied for fourth in total assists (82) and sixth in assists per game.Â
• The Waves boast three of the top four scorers in the WCC: Ross (second at 18.7), Kessler Edwards (third at 17.1) and Kameron Edwards (fourth at 16.8).Â
• Kessler Edwards has recorded three consecutive double-doubles and is coming off a career-high 30 points against Central Arkansas. He now leads the WCC in rebounding (8.5) and double-doubles (five).
• With 983 career points, Kameron Edwards is about to become Pepperdine's 43rd player to reach the 1,000-point milestone. He returned on Saturday after missing the previous two games due to a broken nose.
• The Waves have hit 80% or better of their free throws in 10 of their 11 games and they rank first nationally at 85.9%.The Waves also have three of the top four free throw shooters in the WCC (Ross first at 92.7%, Kessler third at 85.1% and Kameron fourth at 83.7%).
• Pepperdine's final game in this homestand is Saturday (Dec. 21) vs. Northern Arizona.
WAVECASTS — Tuesday's game can be viewed online via WaveCasts on the WCC Network. Veteran play-by-play man Al Epstein, a 2015 Pepperdine Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, will be behind the microphone (now in his 35th season, this will be his 1,049th consecutive broadcast for the Waves).
TICKETS — Single-game tickets for most Pepperdine home games are $25 for reserved seating, $15 for adult general admission and $12 for alumni or child general admission. Select premium games are $30, $20 and $15, respectively. Tickets are available via PepperdineWaves.com or by calling (310) 506-4764.
PEPPERDINE — Pepperdine boasts a one-of-a-kind athletic department with unprecedented success for a school of its size. The Waves have won NCAA Division I championships in five different men's sports — one of just 18 schools to have accomplished this feat — and nine overall. Of this elite group, Pepperdine has the smallest undergraduate enrollment, is the only school without football and is the only university that has not been affiliated with a "major" conference. The Waves have won a total of 25 team or individual national championships in their history. Pepperdine has also earned the Division I-AAA All-Sports Trophy, an award based on postseason success that's given to the top non-football school, three times (most recently in 2011-12). The Waves have produced 205 conference championships, 318 All-Americans and 53 Olympians. Located in scenic Malibu, California, the university overlooks the Pacific Ocean and its campus and athletic facilities are regularly voted among the nation's most beautiful. Pepperdine, which is affiliated with the Church of Christ, ranks #50 overall on U.S. News and World Report's list of America's best colleges.
