Women's Soccer Begins Final Week of Regular Season at USF

MALIBU, California — The Pepperdine women's soccer team has reached the end of the regular season, and hopes to add two more positive results to its NCAA Tournament resume this week. First up is the final road game on Wednesday at San Francisco.
The Waves, who stand at #46 in the NCAA RPI, are in third place in the WCC with 15 points after seven matches.
Devyn Gilfoy was named the WCC Player of the Week on Monday.
MATCH #18 — Wednesday (November 6) at Negoesco Stadium in San Francisco, California: Pepperdine (9-6-2, 5-2-0) at San Francisco (10-6-2, 3-3-1) at 6 p.m.

OPPONENT — Pepperdine is 14-10-2 all-time against San Francisco. The Waves are unbeaten in the last three meetings (2-0-1), though the two schools played to a 1-1 tie in Malibu in 2018 (Brie Welch scored the goal). The Waves won 1-0 in the last trip to USF in 2017. Pepperdine is 5-8 all-time at San Francisco.
LAST GAME — On their 32nd shot of the game and in the 97th minute, the Waves finally broke through and beat San Diego, 1-0, on Madi Cook's golden-goal penalty kick. The total shot count was 32-4 and Pepperdine got its ninth shutout of the season. It was USD's first home loss in more than a year.
NOTABLE — Pepperdine has outshot its last two opponents 62-8 ... The win over Portland was the 250th in Tim Ward's career ... The win over Gonzaga was the 300th in program history ...
