Four Waves Earn WCC Volleyball All-Academic Status

MALIBU, Calif. — Hannah Frohling, Heidi Dyer, Alli O'Harra and Jaiden Farr earned West Coast Conference All-Academic recognition for the Pepperdine women's volleyball team, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. Frohling was named first team for the second time in her career, while the others garnered honorable mention recognition.

Junior Frohling also was named Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District second team earlier this month. She earned first team All-District honors, as well as WCC All-Academic honors in 2017 as well. She is a two-time Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete and WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll 'gold' honoree, and has garnered Pepperdine Dean's List honors last season as well.Â

Currently, Frohling has a 3.948 in Sports Medicine and although a junior on the court, has senior standing in the classroom. On the court this sesaon, she averages 3.22 kills/set on a .251 hitting percentage and leads the Waves with 36 aces for 0.37 aces/set. She also adds 0.99 digs/set and 0.47 blocks/set.

This is the third-consecutive WCC All-Academic honorable mention honor for senior Dyer, who has also garnered Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete and WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll 'bronze' honors all her years as a Wave. Dyer has maintained a 3.322 while studying Integrated Marketing Communications as a senior. This season, she has posted 1.88 kills/set on a .221 output, along with 1.04 digs/set and 0.49 blocks/set for the Waves.

Sophomore O'Harra earns her first WCC All-Academic honor with this award. Last season, she garnered Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete and WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll 'bronze' honors as well. O'Harra has amassed a 3.42 in Sports Medicine after the past two years. On the court, she leads the Waves with 1.19 blocks/set after posting 113 total blocks with nine solo rejections. She also adds 1.53 kills/set on a .237 success rate.

This marks the first all-time WCC All-Academic honor for junior Farr, who in the past has been a two-time Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete and WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll 'silver' honoree. After three seasons at Pepperdine, Farr has maintained a 3.635 grade point average in Religion. On the court, she is good for 1.15 digs/set after posting 69 total digs for Pepperdine.
