George Mason pulled ahead in the second set, producing a 13-10 lead. Pepperdine battled back to close the gap at 15's with an ace from Wieczorek and kills from Michael Wexter and Harthaller. Each team went back-and-forth en route to a 23-23 tie score late in the set. The third set proved to be the Waves through and through and after 6-6 tie, Pepperdine went on an 11-3 run with the help of Max Chamberlain and Harthaller on the attack front. The Waves continued to pound down on the opposition and a final Chamberlain, Harriman block effort earned the sweeping Waves' win with a 25-14 win.
