STOCKTON, Calif. — The Pepperdine women's volleyball team was downed in four sets by Pacific at the Alex G. Spanos Center on Saturday afternoon, falling with 25-22, 14-25, 25-21, 25-15 final set scores.
Jasmine Gross led the team with six blocks, while adding 14 kills on a .520 success rate. Her six blocks puts her at 147 blocks this season, nearing the single-season Pepperdine block record for the rally scoring era which she set last year at 154. The Waves all-time block record including both rally scoring and sideout scoring has stood at 158 since the 1991 and 1992 seasons.

The Waves out-blocked the Tigers with 10.0 team blocks, compared to 7.0. Pacific collected 56 kills, 54 assists and 75 digs, though, which surpassed Pepperdine's 47 kills, 46 assists and 72 digs. The Waves posted a .185 overall success rate, while the Tigers put forth a .176 output.

The Waves and Tigers went back-and-forth to open the match, but Pacific pulled ahead 12-8 to gain the first advantage. Pepperdine came back to a one-point deficit late in the set at the 22-23 mark, but the momentum was in the home team's court and the Tigers went up 1-0 on a 25-22 set one win.
In the second set, the Waves came out strong, fueled by Harris' attack efforts on route to a commanding 15-7 advantage. Pepperdine kept up on the defensive effort and four late blocks from Gross along with Sato on three occasions and the Waves were ahead 23-11. Frohling delivered the final smash for a 25-14 set win to tie the match heading into intermission.
The Waves pulled ahead early in the third set with a 17-12 advantage, but the opposition closed the gap with a 5-0 run. With the momentum in Pacific's court, the Tigers secured the 25-21 third set win.
Pacific had the advantage from the previous set and used it to work ahead 15-8 early. After extending the gap, the Tigers won the set 25-15 to close out the match with the 3-1 WCC win.
