CLUB: Played for several club programs in both indoor and beach volleyball ââ'¬¦ For indoor, Gross played for Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy (U16) and Excel NW (U16, U17, U18) ââ'¬¦ She was on the Aloha Ball Club for beach volleyball ââ'¬¦ In 2016, Excel finished 2nd at the Las Vegas Classic, 4th at Northern Lights NQ, 6th at Colorado Crossroads NSQ where she was named to the tournament "dream team," and placed 1st at the U18 Platinum Power League after going undefeated ââ'¬¦ In 2015, placed 3rd at the Las Vegas Classic (U17) and 1st at the CEVA Platinum Power League (U18) and 3rd at Regionals (U17) ââ'¬¦ In 2014 Excel finished 1st at the NCVA Presidents Day Tournament and 3rd at Colorado Crossroads to earn a bid to the GJNC Open ââ'¬¦ Finished 15th in the GJNC open division ââ'¬¦ The squad finished 1st in the Emerald City Classic where she was named All-Tournament first team and finished 1st at Regionals and in the U16 Platinum Power League ââ'¬¦ On the beach, played in the 2015 Hermosa Beach HP National Tourney and finished 19th with partner Brooke Van Sickle ââ'¬¦ She placed 2nd at Seaside with partner Nicole Peterson and 1st in Quads with Peterson, Ashley Watkins and Grace Massey (U18).
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Jesuit High School in Portland, Ore. In 2016 ââ'¬¦ Lettered four seasons as a middle blocker in the 6A Metro League under Teresa Zimmerlee at JHS ââ'¬¦ In her senior season, Gross earned AVCA UnderArmour High School All-American first team, American Family/USA Today All-American third team, VolleyballMagazine All-American second team, PrepVolleyball All-American first team, OSAA All-State first team and Metro League first team accolades ââ'¬¦ She was tabbed to the OSAA 6A State Tournament first team and was ranked 54th in the PrepVolleyball Senior Aces lists ââ'¬¦ The team won the 6A OSAA State Championship after going undefeated and finished first at the Nike Tournament of Champions Invitational Jesuit also won the state title in her junior and freshman campaigns ââ'¬¦ Nationally, the team ranked second by both MaxPreps and PrepVolleyball ââ'¬¦ Also in her senior campaign, Gross tabbed 239 kills for a .417 attack percentage, she posted 49 blocks, 18 assists, 171 digs and 23 service aces in 82 total sets played ââ'¬¦ In her junior season, Gross was honored with a 6A Metro League first team selection, along with OSAA All-Tournament second team honors ââ'¬¦ She led the team in hitting percentage and total blocks and was second in kills ââ'¬¦ In her sophomore season, Gross tabbed All-Metro League first team honors and JHS went undefeated in Metro League play, while the team eventually finished third in the state tournament ââ'¬¦ In her premier freshman campaign, she was named Jesuit Varsity Most Improved Player ââ'¬¦ Gross also lettered in basketball, starting varsity as a freshman.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Aaron Gross and Susan Campbell ââ'¬¦ Has two younger siblings, Mackenzie and Gavin ââ'¬¦ Her parents are the head coaches of the University of Portland men's and women's tennis team's respectively ââ'¬¦ Father, Aaron, is also the owner/director of The Academy, a junior tennis program and played collegiate tennis at University of Texas and University of Washington ââ'¬¦ Her mother, Susie, played tennis for four years and softball for one year at University of Oklahoma ââ'¬¦ Her aunt, Marlena Campbell, attended graduate school at Pepperdine ââ'¬¦ Majoring in psychology ... When asked why she chose Pepperdine Gross said, "I really felt at home at Pepperdine. The coaches and girls on the team were very welcoming and I knew that I could be a part of a special team" ââ'¬¦ Her sports hero is Pepperdine alumna and current player for the U.S. Women's Volleyball National Team that will be competing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the 2016 Olympic Games.
