7/9/2026 10:00:00 AM | Women's Volleyball
MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine women's volleyball program, entering its 52nd season, announced the 2026 schedule today.
Pepperdine will be playing its home matches inside Firestone Fieldhouse for the final season before moving into The Mountain at Mullin Park in 2027.
The slate totals 29 matches and is highlighted by 13 home matches, beginning August 28 versus Villanova, which is the regular season opener.
All of the Waves' regular season home matches will be streamed live on ESPN+. It's just the third time since 2017 that the Waves will open the season at home, including the shortened 2020 campaign (played in spring 2021).
"Our 2026 schedule is a series of multiple tests to play some of the best teams in the country, and I am thankful that our leadership has given us the greenlight to do so," said Head Coach Scott Wong, who will begin his 12th season at the helm of the program. "Our goal this year is to win our perennially tough West Coast Conference and to display our team's abilities at the national level."
Pepperdine's campaign begins hosting the aforementioned Wildcats on the 28th to open the Asics Classic, which features Pepperdine, Villanova, Sacramento State, and South Dakota State in a round-robin style tournament in Malibu. The Waves will battle South Dakota State on August 29th before facing Sacramento State on August 30th.
The first road trip of the season ensues the following weekend when Pepperdine goes to the Bluejay Classic in Omaha, Nebraska, hosted by Creighton. The blue and orange will face off against Tulsa on September 4 before going up against Creighton on Sept. 5. Arizona will be Pepperdine's opponent to conclude the tournament on Sept. 6.
The Waves will head further east for matches against Western Kentucky (Sept. 10), Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 11), and James Madison (Sept. 12) at the WKU Invitational in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Non-conference action will wrap up with a home match against UC Santa Barbara on Sept. 18 and a cross-town battle at USC on Sept. 19.
Home matches against Pacific (Oct. 1) and Saint Mary's (Oct. 3), squads both beaten by Pepperdine in 2025, will begin the first full month of WCC action for the Waves. Pepperdine will then hit the road for a trio of matches against new WCC foe Denver (Oct. 8), San Diego (Oct. 10), and LMU (Oct. 17).
The Waves have only four home matches in October, and it concludes with San Francisco (Oct. 22) and Santa Clara (Oct. 24). Pepperdine has four consecutive road matches following the meeting against the Broncos, starting with Seattle (Oct. 29) and continuing with Portland (Oct. 31) and Saint Mary's (Nov. 5) before ending with Pacific (Nov. 7).
The Waves get the benefit of having five straight home matches to conclude the 2026 regular season schedule, welcoming San Diego (Nov. 12), Denver (Nov. 14), LMU (Nov. 21), Seattle (Nov. 25), and Portland (Nov. 28).
The Waves return many of 2025's starters, including Chloe Pravednikov, who ranked 11th in the WCC last season with 310 kills. Maggie Beauer (14th in WCC with 291 kills) is also back, with both Pravednikov and Beauer earning All-WCC First Team honors in addition to All-Academic Team accolades last season. Defensively, Laine Briggs among the returners, as the senior racked up the fourth-most digs in the WCC last season (391). Ella Piskorz will enter her junior year coming off a campaign in which she led the WCC in blocks (151) and was sixth in the league in attacking percentage (.329).
Pepperdine will also seek to make it nine consecutive seasons with at least 17 overall wins. The Waves have racked up at least 14 WCC victories and at least a third-place conference finish in all but one year since 2018 (2022).
All match times, in addition to the 2026 volleyball promotional schedule, will be announced soon. The full schedule can be found below, with all pertinent information available on the schedule webpage.
