PEPPERDINE 2024: Played in 38 matches her senior year, primarily in the No. 2 position and alongside Madison Oriskovich … The duo moved into a tie for third overall in career pair wins with 47 and seventh in career winning percentage (.691) … Briede and Oriskovich notched 27 wins on the year, tied for the third winningest season in program history … Individually, she got her 52nd career win and moved into the top-20 all-time in Waves history … Also picked up a two-set win over then-ranked #4 Florida State … Won three times against top-10 ranked and PCH Cup rival Loyola Marymount.
PEPPERDINE 2023: Played in 30 matches in her junior year, all in the No. 5 position and alongside Madison Oriskovich… Briede collected 20 wins, while also tabbing a victory in the No. 6 exhibition slot… Picked up a three-set win over then-ranked #17 Stetson to help the Waves clinch a 3-2 dual win… Also tabbed a two-set win over then-ranked #5 LMU.
PEPPERDINE 2022: Played in three matches in the No. 6 exhibition position.
PEPPERDINE 2021: Played 13 matches in the navy and orange her freshman campaign, all in the No. 5 position … She collected on five wins, while also tabbing a victory in the No. 6 exhibition slot … Went 5-4 alongside senior Katie Gavin, including two-set wins over Saint Mary’s twice, Portland and UC Davis … Also tabbed two-set win over Concordia opponents alongside Cameron Baklenko.
LATVIA VOLLEYBALL/CLUB: Played for the Latvian National U18, U21 and U22 Teams in 2018 and 2019 … Won 1st place at both the Latvian Youth Olympics and U20 National Championship in 2017 … Also in 2017, finished 2nd at the U18 National Championship … Most recently in 2019, finished both 2nd and 3rd in different divisions at the Latvian National Beach Volleyball Championship … In 2018, finished 4th at the U18 EEVZA Championship, 5th at the U18 European Championship and finished 17th at the U22 Europan Championship.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Riga State Gymnasium No. 2 in 2020.
PERSONAL: Majoring in international business … Daughter of Anete Briede and Ivars Briedis … Has three siblings: Linda, Liga and Kristaps … Chose to attend Pepperdine because “of the team’s experienced coaching staff from whom I believe I will learn a lot and, in turn, become a better athlete – as well as the academics and amazing location of the University.”
