PEPPERDINE CAREER: Has posted a 54-25 record in four seasons as a Wave … Ranks 15th in the Pepperdine career record books for career wins as an individual … Marked a 21-10 record in the No. 2 position, 23-11 record in the No. 3 position, 9-4 record from the No. 5 position and a 1-0 record in the No. 1 position … Helped the Waves to two-straight WCC Championship titles and three WCC Championship final appearances, along with a pair of top-five finishes in the NCAA Tournament, including a runner-up finish in 2017, and one top-seven finish.
PEPPERDINE 2020: Started in all seven of Pepperdine’s duals, competing in either the No. 2 or No. 3 positions … Posted a 4-3 overall record, including a 3-1 output in the No. 2 slot with two wins alongside Alexis Filippone and one victory alongside Carly Skjodt … In the last dual of the shortened season, posted a 23-21, 21-16 victory alongside Skjodt over #2 UCLA’s Lexa Denaburg and Lindsey Sparks … Season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
PEPPERDINE 2019: Amassed a 19-10 overall record as a junior for the Waves, playing primarily in the No. 2 position and collecting an 18-9 record in that position … Also tabbed one win in the No. 1 position and one loss in the No. 3 position … Posted a 12-8 record in the No. 2 position alongside Deahna Kraft and a 6-1 output in the same position alongside Heidi Dyer … Helped the Waves to a 7th place finish in the NCAA Championships.
PEPPERDINE 2018: Played in the No. 3 position alongside Heidi Dyer as a sophomore and amassed a 22-8 overall record for the Waves … Marked a 49-20 record by sets … Helped the Waves to a third-straight West Coast Conference Championship title and a top-five finish at the NCAA Beach Volleyball National Championships … Clinched three matches for the Waves, including the NCAA Tournament opener against #7 LSU on May 4 … Collected 18 wins by straight-set decisions including all three WCC Championship matches and two in the NCAA Tournament.
PEPPERDINE 2017: Amassed a 9-4 record in her freshman campaign when playing in the No. 5 position for a .692 winning percentage … Produced a 7-1 record alongside Kaity Bailey … Tabbed a 19-9 overall sets record and went 3-4 against nationally ranked opponents … At home (stats only kept at home events), posted 4.78 kills/set, 0.06 blocks/set and 0.89 aces/set for the Waves … Won her first collegiate match alongside Katty Workman as the pair posted a 2-1 win over Chanti Holroyd and Lily Justine to upset No. 3 UCLA in the home-opener … Part of the team that finished as NCAA National runners-up.
USA VOLLEYBALL/CLUB: Was a member of the USA HP Beach Volleyball team every year since 2011 (2016: A1 U21; 2015: A2 U19; 2014: A1 U19; 2013: A2 U17; 2012: A1 U17; 2011: A2 U15) … Raveled to Croatia and Italy with the Global Challenge indoor squad for USA HP in 2013 … Was selected MVP in the Global Challenge indoor team for USA HP in 2014, helping the team finish in first place … Was invited to A1 USA U21 in 2016 … Won gold in AAU Junior Olympics in 2014 and 2015 and finished top 10 at the USA Championships in 2015 … Selected MVP of the Global Challenge Team in 2014 … Also played for Elite Volleyball Club and TStreet Volleyball Club from ages 10-16.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. in 2016 … Spent four years on the varsity squad as an outside hitter in the Trinity League, playing under Katie Wildermuth and Mike Murphy … Earned MVP and All-Trinity League first team honors all four years … Helped the team to the CIF second round for the first and second time in JSerra Catholic HS history in 2014 and 2015.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Cutberto and Kimberly Hernandez … Has two older siblings, Cutberto Hernandez III and Christian Hernandez … Eldest brother, Cutberto, played water polo for Loyola Marymount and both U.S.A.’s and Mexico’s National Teams … Other brother, Christian, played basketball for University of San Francisco and trained with the Mexican National Team … Plans to major in Business at Pepperdine and has goals of playing in the AVP and representing the U.S.A. in international competition … Recently went to visit an orphanage in Rosarito, Mexico called “Door of Faith” and connected with children of all ages who benefit when the community services thrive … Chose Pepperdine because of “the strong academics in the field I want to study, as well as the amazing coaching staff and team. Anyperson associated with Pepperdine has shown respect and kindness to myself and my family, and that’s something I strive to emulate in my life.”
