IRVINE, Calif. – Pepperdine track concluded its penultimate meet of the 2026 regular season this evening. The Waves competed on both days of the Steve Scott Invitational, hosted by UC Irvine.
"It was a great weekend in Irvine!" head coach Lauren Floris said. "The team performed really well across the board. The moments that really stood out to me were Alex pacing Beckett to a PR and U20 Champs qualifying mark, Brittany breaking her own school record in the 400m hurdles and the sophomore ladies running the second fastest 4x4 time in team history!"
The orange and blue earned five podium finishes, including Brittany Rivas' record-setting run in the 400m hurdles. The La Cañada native shaved 0.3 milliseconds from her previous mark to improve to a program-best 1:01.77. She took home bronze.Â
Dominic Silhol earned the first of two top finishes for the Waves. He ran the 5K in 14:34.30. The relay team of Rivas, Annie Trapp, Lia Cooper, and Lexi Thomas were the second Malibu runners to take gold. They combined for 3:49.19 in the 4x400m relay.Â
