
Track Making Trip to Irvine for Steve Scott Invitational

IRVINE, Calif. – Pepperdine track heads to Orange County for the UC Irvine-hosted Steve Scott Invitational this week. The Waves will race on Friday and Saturday.

Pepperdine is set to compete in the following events:
Friday
Women's 800m — 5:50 p.m.
Men's 800m — 6:00 p.m.Â
Women's 5K — 6:45 p.m.Â
Men's 5K — 8:10 p.m.Â
Men's 1500m — 8:36 p.m.Â
Women's 1500m — 8:52 p.m.
Saturday
Women's 100m hurdles — 1:05 p.m.Â
Women's 400m — 1:35 p.m.Â
Men's 400m — 1:50 p.m.
Women's 100m — 2:10 p.m.Â
Women's 400m hurdles — 2:50 p.m.Â
Women's 200m — 3:10 p.m.Â
Men's 200m — 3:35 p.m.
Women's 4x400m relay — 4:55 p.m.Â
Kennedy Duralde and Ashley Eagan will open Friday's competition in the 800m. Renee Skiera will run the 5K and later join Grace Simpson in the 1500m—the final event for the women that night.
The men's 800m is set to be busy as Ryan Fabian, Henry Hicks, Colin Knowles, Alex Nield, Beckett Sullivan, and Daniel Whitaker will compete across two heats Friday night. The Waves will also be well-represented in the 1500m, with Elijah Gentry, Kaleb McElfish, and Gordy and Rowan Nilsen all running. Patrick Thomas and Dominic Silhol will get a throwback to cross country season when they take on the 5K.
Kian Alton will be the men's only runner on Saturday. The freshman sprinter will run in the 200m and 400m.
Annie Trapp will hurdle distances of 100m and 400m. She will be joined by Brittany Rivas in the latter event.Â
Adison Moore, Ava Maly, Livi Grecco, and Lia Cooper will all compete in the 100m and 200m. Lexi Thomas will also compete in the 200m as well as solo in the 400m.Â
One relay will be run, contested by Rivas, Trapp, Cooper, and Thomas.Â
The Waves wrap up the regular season next week in the Franson Last Chance Meet, hosted by Azusa Pacific. Runners will have a final attempt at qualifying for the NCAA West Preliminaries.
ABOUT PEPPERDINE CROSS COUNTRY/TRACK
The Pepperdine cross country/track program has a rich history dating back to the 1950s with six total individual national championships to come through the program. As one of the original three programs sponsored by then George Pepperdine College in 1937, the Waves immediately began to make a mark on the track world stage with eight total Olympians and multiple regional champions throughout the program's history.Â
