No. 8 Women's Golf Set for Yale Invitational West

MALIBU, Calif. — No. 8 Pepperdine women's golf will head to La Quinta, California next to contest the Yale Invitational West, hosted by the Yale Bulldogs. The tournament is slated for March 9-10 from the PGA West - Nicklaus Course.

The 10-team field features five programs currently ranked in the top-30 of The Differential rankings. The Waves enter play ranked No. 8 in The Differential NCAA Head to Head rankings, the criteria used for NCAA postseason selection, and are currently No. 10 in the Scoreboard team rankings.

The opening two rounds will take place Monday with the final round set for Tuesday in the 54-hole event. The shotgun start will begin at 8:15 a.m. Monday with the Waves off from holes 1-5 alongside Yale, Kansas State and Gonzaga.

"We are looking forward to competing in the Yale Invitational this week at PGA West, Nicklaus Course," said head coach Laurie Gibbs. "It's a challenging golf course, but our players are ready and playing with confidence after last week's win at the Fresno State Classic. We have also enjoyed a few fun days during our spring break, and are now excited to get back to competing again."

Pepperdine is coming off a team victory at the Fresno State Classic, as the Waves posted a -11 team score to win the event by 44 strokes.

Eunseo Choi won the individual title at the Fresno State Classic, as the Waves earned the top-four spots individually. Jeneath Wong took home runner-up honors, with Yingzhi Zhu in third and Kylee Choi tying for fourth.

Three Waves currently hold top-70 individual scoreboard rankings, featuring Kylee Choi (No. 19), Eunseo Choi (No. 35) and Jeneath Wong (No. 69). Zhu's third-place finish at the Fresno State Classic marked a new career-best as the senior also set a new personal best with a 67 in the tournament's second round.

This also marks the first season that Pepperdine has participated in a Yale Invitational.

The Waves will conclude the regular season next week at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, hosted by the University of Texas in Austin from March 16-17.
