Crawford & Eagan Set Women’s Track Program Records at Battle Born Classic

RENO, Nev. –  The women's track team wrapped up their two days of action at the Battle Born Classic this afternoon. Seniors Ashley Eagan and Lizzy Crawford both raced to Pepperdine bests–-their historic performances coming in the indoor 800-meter and indoor 3K, respectively.

"I'm so proud of everyone, especially Ashley and Lizzy," said head coach Lauren Floris. "This weekend brought both highs and lows but I'm so proud of how the team handled both. We gained a lot of experience that will be helpful when we come back for MPSF in a few weeks."

Lizzy Crawford provided the Waves with an individual victory on the weekend. Her time of 9:52.04 was over 14 seconds quicker than second place. Crawford was the previous record-holder, dating back to her time last January. However, this was the first time she shattered the ten minute threshold.

Ashley Eagan turned in another standout performance for Pepperdine. She finished ninth from a field of 40 in the 800-meter (2:15.88). It is almost six seconds faster than the previous personal best she ran last season.

Both of the aforementioned athletes have already set program records in this young season. Two weeks ago in Boston, Mass. Eagan took the indoor mile (5:04.88) and Crawford the indoor 5K (16:58.63) to kickstart the 2026 campaign.

The team got accustomed to the track at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, which they will hope to capitalize on when they return March 1 for the MPSF Championships. In the meantime, Pepperdine heads to Claremont, Calif. for a short intermission at the Rossi Relays Feb. 28.
