MALIBU, Calif. – Three program records fell this weekend as Pepperdine Track began its season split between meets in Albuquerque, N.M. and Boston, Mass.
The first Wave to shatter an all-time mark was Ashley Eagan. At the John Thomas Terrier Classic she raced to 5:04.88 (over two seconds faster than the previous time) in the indoor mile.
Lizzy Crawford surpassed her indoor 5K time from last year by over 15 seconds. Previously the record holder at 17:14.16, she ran 16:58.63 on Friday.
The Land of Enchantment provided a backdrop for new Pepperdine bests too. Freshman Kian Alton hit the ground running in his first competition as a member of the blue and orange. He clocked a record-breaking time of 22.26 in the indoor 200-meter.
Another first-year started their Waves career with a notable performance. Adison Moore came within .20 of the program record in the indoor 60-meter. She ran a 7.87, putting her at fifth all-time.
She then joined forces with Isabella Reyes, Mia Skuraton, and Lexi Thomas for a 3:57.56 in the indoor 4x400 relay, good for Pepperdine's second-best ever.
Track returns Feb. 13 for the Battle Born Classic in Reno, Nev.
