Men's Golf into Final Round of Stroke Play at NCAA Championships

CARLSBAD, Calif. – The Pepperdine men's golf team is onto the next stage of the NCAA Championships as the Waves are tied for 13th and inside the top-15 after posting a three-round total of 879 (293-294-292) (+15).

Starting early on Sunday morning, the 21st-ranked Waves were tied for 7th and 3-under thru 13 during their third round, but windy conditions over the last five holes caused Pepperdine to finish with a 4-over 292 on the par-72 7,480-yard Omni La Costa Resort & Spa North Course.

Pepperdine made the first cut by two strokes, but the Waves will have some work to do if they want to have a chance at becoming the 12th school in NCAA history to win three or more national titles. The top-8 teams after tomorrow's fourth round will qualify for match play on Tuesday, and Pepperdine sits three strokes behind that current mark.

Individually, Mahanth Chirravuri led the Waves with his second under par round of the championships. Chirravuri came out and posted an impressive five birdies during his 2-under 70 and he's tied for 10th at 2-under with a three-day score of 214 (71-73-70). Also posting a solid round, Willy Walsh carded his second consecutive round of even-par thanks to a crucial birdie on his last hole of the day. Michael La Sasso of Ole Miss holds the individual lead thru 54 holes at 11-under (205).

PLAYER SCORES
  • Junior Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz.) is tied for 10th at 2-under with a three-day score of 214 (71-73-70). Today, Chirravuri was cruising thru 12 and was 5-under, but struggled through the windy conditions and finished with a 2-under 70. Chirravuri earned birdies on holes 1, 3, 14, 15 and 17 as he tabbed his second under par round of the 2025 NCAA Championships. Tomorrow, he'll look to become just the seventh Wave in program history to finish in the top-10 at the NCAA Championships.
  • Sophomore Willy Walsh (San Mateo, Calif.) notched his second consecutive round of even par with another 72 on Sunday. Once again, Walsh found himself 2-over thru 10, but was able to battle back and finish his last eight holes 2-under, which included a clutch birdie on his last hole of the day - hole 9.  He recorded birdies on holes 2, 9 and 17 on Sunday, and he's tied for 31st with a three-round total of 218 (74-72-72) (+2).
  • Junior Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif.) birdied his first hole of the day (hole 10) before finding himself 1-over at the turn. From there, he birdied holes 3 and 6 to move to 1-under before the wind gave him trouble and he finished with a 2-over 74. Siravo heads into the fourth round tied for 57th at 5-over with a total of 221 (73-74-74).
  • Freshman Luke Bailey (Encinitas, Calif.) finished his third round with a 6-over 78 and a birdie on hole 16. Bailey heads into the final round tied for 116th with a three-day total of 229 (75-76-78) (+13).
  • Sophomore Kristoffer Kuvaas (Houston, Texas) is tied for 130th after recording a 4-over 76 with birdies on holes 10 and 13 during Sunday's round. Kuvaas holds a three-round score of 232 (81-75-76) (+16).
