Walsh Sinks Two Eagles as No. 13 Men's Golf Completes Valspar Intercollegiate Invitational

PALM CITY, Fla. - No. 13 Pepperdine men's golf wrapped up the Valspar Intercollegiate Invitational on Tuesday afternoon, finishing in a tie for 11th place out of 15 teams.

10th-ranked Texas Tech won the tournament as a team by six strokes, shooting 45-under par. Oklahoma's Ryder Cowan and Florida State's Tyler Weaver shared the individual tournament champion honor, firing 15-under each.

As for the Waves, Willy Walsh dominated the majority of the third round. He improved as the tournament progressed, firing two-under in round one, three-under in round two, and four-under in Tuesday's final round of 18. He shined on the back nine, recovering from a double bogey on hole 10 to bury an eagle on 11 and 13. A birdie on 16 propelled him to finish with rounds of 69-68-67 to place in a tie for 13th overall.

Brady Siravo also dazzled in the third round, firing three-under. He shot part on each of the front nine but caught fire down the stretch, sinking four birdies to finish five-under for the tournament and in a tie for 27th overall. Mahanth Chirravuri improved from shooting three-over yesterday to three-under on Tuesday, sitting in a tie for 51st overall. With exception to a double bogey on nine, he fired five birdies to complete the tournament with rounds of 72-73-68.

Carson Kim was tripped up by double bogeys on 2 and 18 but recorded four birdies, placing in a tie for 66th overall.
