Walsh Paces No. 13 Men's Golf After Two Rounds at Valspar Intercollegiate Invitational

PALM CITY, Fla. - No. 13 Pepperdine men's golf is through two rounds at the Valspar Intercollegiate Invitational, sitting in a tie for 11th place out of 16.

Fresh off a top-three performance at The Desimone Invitational, Willy Walsh shot rounds of 69-68 on the par 71 course to lead the Waves at five-under, good for a tie in 19th place overall. The San Mateo, California native, ranked 17th in the country, buried three consecutive birdies in round one on holes 13-15. In round two, he sunk three birdies on the back nine again to finish three-under for the round.

Senior Brady Siravo finished day one in a tie for 38th overall after shooting two-under. The 32nd-ranked golfer in the nation started hot, firing four-under in the opening round. Siravo tallied birdies on holes one, five, seven, 11, 13, and 14. He had some tougher luck in round two as four bogeys caused some trouble, but Siravo escaped with a two-over score for the round. Carson Kim had a tough beginning to the tournament, double-bogeying to end the opening round. He responded in strong fashion in round two, firing seven birdies to propel himself to a four-under for the round. Kim shot rounds of 74-67 on Monday, and his second round outing pulled him one-under on the day (T-45).

Mahanth Chirravuri battled hard and completed Monday's first two rounds three-over. The senior had a few birdies in the opening round but was tripped up by a double-bogey on five and had a few off-setting bogeys in round two.

Luke Dariotis completed the Waves' lineup and shot five-over. He was even after round one but was troubled by four bogeys and a double-bogey in round two.
