AMHERST, Va. – The Pepperdine men's golf team is in seventh with 18 holes to play at the NCAA Amherst Regional.
The 19th-ranked Waves shot a 12-over 292 on the par-70 7,212-yard Poplar Grove Golf Club on Monday and are seven back of the top-five and cut line for the NCAA Championship.
#30 Tennessee (556), #18 Vanderbilt (557), #7 Oklahoma (561), #31 Arizona (564) and Florida Gulf Coast (565) are respectively in first through fifth and currently hold the top-five spots that will earn a place in the NCAA Championship in Carlsbad, Calif.
Individually, Pepperdine is led by
Luke Bailey who is
tied for 23rd at 2-over with a two-day total of 142 (68-74). The top placing individual not a team in the top-five will advance to the NCAA Championship, and Bailey is five strokes behind that current mark (-3).

- Freshman Luke Bailey (Encinitas, Calif.) is tied for 23rd at 2-over with a tournament total of 142 (68-74). Bailey shot a 4-over 74, collecting birdies on holes 5 and 11 on Monday.
- Sophomore Willy Walsh (San Mateo, Calif.) finished with a 5-over 75 with four birdies during his second round and is tied for 28th with a two-day score of 143 (75-68) (+3). Walsh birdied holes 4, 7, 17 and 18 today.
- Junior Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz.) also has a two-day score of 143 (71-72) (+3) and is tied for 28th with 18 holes to play. He posted a 2-over 72 with birdies on holes 2, 11 and 14 today.
- Junior Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif.) is tied for 33rd with a two-day total of 144 (73-71) (+4). During his second round, Siravo was 2-under thru 11, but found trouble on the way back to the clubhouse and finished with a 1-over 71 on Monday. He collected birdies on holes 2, 11 and 14 during today's round.
- Playing his first round of the regional, freshman Byungho Lee (Seoul, South Korea) carded a 7-over 77 with one eagle and one birdie. Lee eagled the par-4 14th hole, while earning a birdie on hole 5.
