LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Pepperdine men's golf team finished tied for fifth at the Southern Highlands Collegiate with a three-day score of 883 (295-292-296) (+19).
The 24-ranked Waves posted an 8-over 296 at the 7,510-yard par-72 Southern Highlands Golf Club today, and they finished tied with #4 Oklahoma, #11 Florida and #26 Texas A&M. Additionally, Pepperdine beat out #12 Illinois, #16 Georgia Tech, #18 SMU, #22 San Diego State in Las Vegas this week.
Climbing seven spots and earning his third top-10 finish this year,
Mahanth Chirravuri led the Waves with his ninth place finish after carding a 2-under 70 today in the final round today.
#2 Auburn won the tournament at 9-under with a total of 855, while #31 UNLV and New Mexico rounded out the top-three with scores of 865 (+1) and 871 (+7), respectively.
PLAYER SCORES
- Junior Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz.) climbed up seven spots with a 2-under 70 on Tuesday to finish tied for 9th and post a three-day total of 218 (75-73-70). Chirravuri collected four birdies in his final round to earn his seventh career top-10 finish and his third such finish this year.
- Junior Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif.) finished tied for 34th at 8-over with a three-round score of 224 (79-71-74). Siravo started his final round with two-straight birdies, but recorded a 2-over 74 with three total birdies today.
- Sophomore Willy Walsh (San Mateo, Calif.) also finished tied for 34th with a three-day total of 224 (70-73-81). Walsh tallied a 9-over 81 with one birdie during the final round.
- Sophomore Kris Kuvaas (Houston, Texas) tallied a 1-over 73 with four birdies during his round on Tuesday. Kuvaas finished tied for 39th at 9-over with a three-day total of 225 (77-75-73).
- Freshman Byungho Lee (Seoul, South Korea) carded a 7-over 79 with three birdies in the final round. Lee ended the tournament tied for 54th with a score of 227 (73-75-79) (+11).
- Playing as an individual, freshman Luke Bailey (Encinitas, Calif.) posted a 4-over 76 with birdies on holes 1, 2 and 4 today. He recorded a three-round score of 232 (76-80-76) (+16) and finished the tournament in 77th.
