KOHALA COAST, Hawaii. – Highlighted by
William Walsh's career day, the Pepperdine men's golf team finished the Amer Ari Invitational in seventh place with a three-day score of 818 (271-279-268) (-46). The Waves posted a 20-under 268 in the final round.
Today, Pepperdine was highlighted by
William Walsh who shot a career-best 9-under 63 to become the seventh Wave to ever record a round of 9-under or better. He joins Andrew Putnam, Frederick Wedel, Clay Feagler, Derek Hitchner and Joe Highsmith as Pepperdine players who have shot 9-under in a round. RJ Manke holds the record for the best round as a Wave with his score of 10-under in 2018.
#9 Oklahoma State won the tournament at 64-under with a three-day score of 800 (262-271-267), while #6 North Carolina and #5 Texas rounded out the podium.
PLAYER SCORES
- Junior Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif.) carded a 3-under 69 to finish the tournament 12-under and tied for 16th. He had a three-round score of 204 (68-67-69). Siravo collected five birdies today, including back-to-back birdies to finish his round. This was his third top-20 finish this season and the seventh such finish of his career.
- Junior Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz.). rattled off three birdies during his first four holes before moving back to 1-under through his first nine holes today. He then finished his round with a bogey free 3-under to post a 4-under 68 and finish tied for 24th with a three-day score of 205 (67-70-68) (-11).
- Sophomore William Walsh (San Mateo, Calif.) finished the Amer Ari Invitational tied for 24th after his career round today. He tallied a three-round score of 205 (69-73-63) (-11). Walsh fired off a bogey free final round with seven birdies and an eagle on the 521-yard par-5 second hole.
- Graduate Nathan Han (Somers, N.Y.) finished the tournament 10-under and tied for 28th with a three-round score of 206 (67-71-68). Today, Han was 1-under through nine, but was able to find three more birdies on his last nine holes to finish with a 4-under 68.
- Sophomore Byungho Lee (Seoul, South Korea) finished the tournament even and tied for 83rd with a three-round score of 216 (73-71-72). Today, Lee carded an even 72 with three birdies.
- Competing as an individual, sophomore Kristoffer Kuvaas (Houston, Texas) ended the tournament 4-under and tied for 63rd with a three-day score of 212 (68-73-71). Kuvaas collected four birdies during his final round and notched a 1-under 71.
