Junior outfielder
Joe Cardinale (Salinas, Calif.) had two singles on the night.

RECAP
Keeping the game close as the Waves tried to get the offense into a rhythm, two hits through three innings would result in two runs for the Tritons as Pepperdine fell behind 0-2 three innings in.
A UCSD error and single by senior infielder
Julian Nunez (Encinitas, Calif.) gave the Waves baserunners, but two would be stranded to end the top of the third inning.
Zero's on the board for both squads in the fourth inning took the game to the fifth with the same score of 0-2. Tacking on two runs with help from a double down the left field line for the Tritons, the Waves trailed 0-4 going into the sixth.
No response on the offensive side of the ball gave UCSD the opportunity to break the game open in the bottom half of the sixth. Four hits, including a three-run home run, extended the Triton lead to 10 by the end of the sixth inning.
A home run by Savage in the top of the ninth would erase the hopes of a shutout for the Tritons as the catcher got the Waves on the board. Pepperdine was unable to add to the run, ultimately losing 1-18 at Triton ballpark.
