Chirravuri's Strong Round Highlights Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate's First Day

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — The No. 14/19 Pepperdine men's golf team sits in third place after the first round of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, held in Alpharatta, Ga. on Friday.

Senior Mahanth Chirravuri tied his career-low round with a 6-under 66, which is currently tied for second place. The Waves had three players under par after the first round; Willy Walsh (-3, T-10th) and Luke Bailey (-1, T-25th) were the others. Thanks to their efforts, the Waves are in third with a 10-under 278, which is just one stroke behind second-place Duke and six behind the leading Virginia Cavaliers.

PLAYER SCORES

Senior Mahanth Chirravuri is tied for second after his 6-under 66 first round. He tied his career-low round thanks to two eagles: first on a par-5 No. 1 and then by capping off his round on a par-5 No. 9. Chirravuri also had four birdies in his first round.
Junior Willy Walsh is tied for 10th after his 3-under 69 first round. He tied his season-low score with six birdies in the first round.
Sophomore Luke Bailey is tied for 25th with a 1-under 71 first round. He totaled four birdies, including three on the back nine.
Fellow senior Brady Siravo is tied for 29th at an even-par 72 first round. Siravo rebounded from his front nine with an eagle on a par-5 No. 11 and three birdies.
Sophomore Byungho Lee finished tied for 57th with his 3-over 75 first round.
