FRESNO, Calif. – The Pepperdine women's swim and dive program dropped a two-day dual meet to Fresno State 215-81 on the road this weekend.
The Waves were led
Alexandra Browne who earned four spots on the podium in her individual events.
DAY 1 RECAP
RELAYS
Pepperdine earned third place finishes in both of the relay events on Friday. The squad of
Layla Busquets (Diablo, Calif.),
Nora Rabe (Wayzata, Minn.),
Sophia Ware (Allen, Texas) and
Alexandra Browne (Arlington, Va.) clocked a time of 3:55.46 in the 400 medley relay.
In the 400 free relay, the Pepperdine foursome of
Lindsay Hemming (Orinda, Calif.), Busquets,
Natalie Do (Mansfield, Texas) and Browne earned a podium finish after completing the event in 3:32.90.
INDIVIDUALS
The Waves earned four additional spots on the podium during the first day of competition in the individual portion of swimming. Browne continued her dominance in the 50 free as she won the event for the fifth time this season with a time of 23.63. She also earned a third place finish after swimming the 100 IM in 58.10.
In the specialty 100 kick event, Busquets took second place after posting a time of 1:10.30.
Kiana Fan (Irvine, Calif.) earned the Waves another third place finish in the 50 back with a time of 27.58.
Along with the four top-three finishes,
Ansley Halbach (Watkinsville, Ga.) earned the seventh spot on the Waves all-time top-10 list with a time of 17:39.96 in the 1650 free.
DAY 2 RECAP
RELAYS
The team of Browne, Busquets, Hemming and
Elliot Easton (Tampa, Fla.) took third in the 200 free after finishing their four legs of the event in 1:39.97.
In the 200 medley relay, the group of Fan,
Sydney Abild (Holyoke, Mass.), Ware and Browne also finished in third after posting a time of 1:49.88.
INDIVIDUALS
Individually, Pepperdine earned three spots on the podium, and the Waves were once again led by Browne who earned yet another first place finish in the 50 free this season (24.30). She also took the final spot on the podium in the 100 free with a time of 53.45.
Busquets finished her solid weekend in Fresno with a third place finish in the 100 back (59.62).
DIVING RECAP
Lexie Martin (Keller, Texas) represented the Waves in both diving competitions this weekend. Martin earned a third place finish with a score of 208.73 in the 3-meter. She also finished fourth in the 1-meter competition after posting a total of 196.43 points.
