Pepperdine Finishes up at Conway Farms

LAKE FOREST, ILL. – After closing up the final holes of the second round and playing out the third today at the Windon Memorial Classic, the Pepperdine men's golf team finished in seventh-place with a score of 862 (287-295-280).

Three Waves finished in the top-25 throughout the event hosted at par-71, 7,432-yard Conway Farms Golf Club, led by Mahanth Chirravuri who picked up his fifth-career top-10 finish since joining the program last season.  He had two under-par rounds, highlighted by a 4-under 67 in the opening round.  William Walsh and Brady Siravo moved up 13 and 11 spots respectively in the final round of play.  Walsh shot a 69 to move up to 23rd and Siravo posted a 70 for 25th in the final round.

Arizona collected on the team win, beating out Marquette by three shots and tournament-host Northwestern by 12 shots.  Kansas, South Florida and Illinois rounded out the top-six, while Pepperdine bested Notre Dame in eighth and Houston in ninth by two and nine-strokes respectively.  Patrick Adler from Marquette took home the individual win with a 202, while Arizona's Tiger Christensen was second and Zach Pollo and Notre Dame's Jacob Modleski were tied for third.

PLAYER SCORES
  • Junior Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton HS/USC) finished tied for 10th with a score of 212 (67-75-70).  He started off the day with a bogey on the second hole, but countered with a birdie to bring things back to even.  He then eagled the par-five hole eight to go 2-under prior to the turn.  He picked up another birdie on the 13th, though a bogey and double-bogey plagued his back half.  He was able to pick up another birdie on his final hole of the day to stay under-par for the round and finished with nine birdies overall and an eagle throughout the tournament.
  • Sophomore William Walsh (San Mateo, Calif./Junipero Serra HS) shot a 217 (78-70-69) to finish tied for 23rd.  He finished with seven birdies in the tournament.  He opened his round with a birdie and though he picked up a bogey shortly after, another birdie on hole seven before he made the turn helped his cause.  After another bogey later in the day, he capped off the day with a pair of birdies on holes 15 and 18 to finish strong.
  • Junior Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif./Jesuit HS) tied for 25th after amassing a three-round score of 218 (72-76-70).  He opened his day with a pair of bogeys, but a birdie on six and an eagle on the par-five hole eight put him under prior to the turn.  Though a few more bogeys would affect his back nine, a trio of birdies, including one on 18 helped him finish up strong.  He ended the tournament with eight birdies and an eagle.
  • Freshman Luke Bailey (Encinitas, Calif./Santa Fe Christian HS) posted a 220 (75-74-71) to tie for 38th.  He finished with three birdies in the final round and seven throughout the tournament.
  • Sophomore Kristoffer Kuvaas (Houston, Texas/The Village School) finished tied for 46th with a 222 (73-76-73).
  • Junior Joshua Koo (Cerritos, Calif./Cerritos HS/Washington) shot a 231 (81-77-73) to tie for 77th as an individual.  He led the team with 10 birdies, including five in the final round today.
