Seven Waves Tab WCC All-Academic Honors

MALIBU, Calif. – Seven members of the Pepperdine beach volleyball team earned West Coast Conference All-Academic honors this season, as announced by the league office today, led by first team acclaim for McKenna Thomas and Kate Clermont.
 

Aubrey Roberts, Gracie Pedersen, Kristine Briede, Emi Erickson, and Madison Oriskovich also earned honorable mention nods.
 
Clermont (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) earned a 3.805 grade point average while studying liberal arts for education.  She previously received the WCC All-Academic first team acclaim in 2023, WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll 'Silver' Honors in 2022, and was also named AVCA Top Flight and All-WCC first team last season.
 
Thomas (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) is studying psychology and has earned a 3.82 grade point average.  She earned WCC All-Academic honors, All-WCC first team honors last season, as well as being a two-time Pepperdine scholar-athlete. She also earned AVCA Top Flight, WCC Co-Freshman of the Year, WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll 'Gold' honors, and All-WCC first team awards during the last two years.
 
Roberts (Walnut Creek, Calif.) boasted a 3.641 grade point average while studying psychology.  Pedersen (Franklin, Tenn.) marked a 3.57 GPA while studying business administration. Oriskovich (Santa Barbara, Calif.) put up a 3.415 GPA while studying advertising. Erickson (Honolulu, Hawai'i) marked a 3.386 grade point average while majoring in pre-business administration. Briede (Balozi, Latvia) posted a 3.274 grade point average while studying international business.
 
To earn the honor, a student-athlete must earn at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, be a starter or important reserve that has competed in at least 50 percent of the institution's contests, and have at least sophomore athletic and academic standing with at least one year in residence completed at the nominating institution.
 
Pepperdine currently holds a 19-14 record and will compete in the WCC tournament this weekend.
