SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The Pepperdine men's golf team finished up in 10
th-place at the 77
th annual Western Intercollegiate, played at the par-70, 6,486-yard Pasatiempo Golf Course, on Wednesday.
Sophomore
Mahanth Chirravuri and freshman
Kristoffer Kuvaas led the squad, having tied for 21
st (+3) and 25
th (+4) respectively. Chirravuri started the day in second-place and though he had a few bogeys early, he settled later in the day without an error in seven holes through the turn. He finished out the day with six holes for par.  Kuvaas, along with fellow freshman
William Walsh had the best rounds of the day, finishing up with a 1-over 71.
In the play six, count five tournament, Pepperdine collected a three-round score of 1,093 (370-355-368). Pepperdine defeated San Jose State and UNLV by one stroke, UC Irvine by 30 strokes and Hawai'i by 34 strokes.
As this was the final regular season tournament of the season, the Waves will begin the postseason slate with the West Coast Conference Championships from April 26-28 in Bremerton, Wash.
PLAYER SCORES
- Sophomore Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz.) shot a 213 (68-69-76) through three rounds. He produced nine birdies overall and had a hole in one to eagle hole nine in the first round.
- Freshman Kristoffer Kuvaas (Houston, Texas) finished tied for 25th with a score of 214 (74-69-71). He was over at the turn, but finished his last six holes 3-under to help produce one of the best Waves' rounds of the day. He picked up 10 birdies overall.
- Sophomore Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif.) picked up a three-day total of 217 (74-68-75) to tie for 39th. He went 1-under without a bogey through his final nine holes and amassed six birdies and an eagle throughout the tournament.
- Freshman William Walsh (San Mateo, Calif.) finished with a 221 (74-76-71) to tie for 57th. He went 1-under on his first 11 bogeyless holes of the day and finished 1-over. He totaled five birdies through three days.
- Sophomore Joshua Koo (Cerritos, Calif.) tied for 84th with a score of 230 (82-73-75). He had five birdies in the final round and amassed 11 in total.
- Sophomore Takanobu Kanda (Tokyo, Japan) posted a 248 (80-86-82) to finish 94th overall.
