SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – A pair of Waves are tied for third after two rounds at The Goodwin, putting the Pepperdine men's golf team in eighth-place heading into the final round of competition at the par-70, 7,193-yard TPC Harding Park tomorrow.
Freshmen
Kristoffer Kuvaas and
William Walsh have impressed thus far, with the former putting in the Waves' best round of the day with a 3-under 67. Walsh has been consistent this weekend as well, shooting for par or better through 36 holes to lead the squad with his teammate.
The duo is only two shots away from the lead, held currently by Ben Van Wyk of Georgia, and one away from second-place. As a team, Pepperdine has amassed a two-round score of 569 (281-288). The team is three strokes out of the top-five and only six away from the current leader Utah.

- Freshman Kristoffer Kuvaas (Houston, Texas) had the best round of the day for Pepperdine after shooting a 3-under 67 to put him tied for third and his current two-round total at 138 (71-67). He moved up 25 spots with the performance. After going down and up through the first three holes, he shot 3-under through six rounds before starting to even out. He finished strong, however, with a 2-under output in his final seven holes. He's had eight birdies so far.
- Freshman William Walsh (San Mateo, Calif.) also had a solid day with five birdies to round out his two-day total to 138 (70-68) and tie for third-place as well. He bogeyed the first hole before shooting 4-under in the following 11 holes without a single bogey, though he finished with the 2-under. He has amassed eight birdies in total this weekend thus far.
- Sophomore Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz.) is tied for 27th with a score of 142 (67-75). He had a strong first round yesterday with five birdies and posted another two in the round today.
- Sophomore Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif.) is tied for 151st with a score of 154 (73-81).
- Sophomore Joshua Koo (Cerritos, Calif.) amassed a 155 (77-78) to tie for 156th.Â
