Men's Golf Finishes Southern Highlands

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Pepperdine men's golf team closed out the Southern Highlands Collegiate, held at the par-72, 7,510-yard Southern Highlands Golf Club, in 12th-place with a three-round score of 879 (282-304-293). 

The Waves had two in the top-25, led by sophomore Mahanth Chirravuri who finished tied for 12th.  The individual title went to Florida's Ian Gilligan, while #15 Oklahoma took home the hardware as a team after shooting an 8-under 856.  Pepperdine out shot #4 Arizona State, tournament-host UNLV and TCU throughout the tournament. 

PLAYER SCORES
  • Sophomore Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz.) tied for 12th after a three-day score of 215 (68-75-72).  He stayed even through the final round, rallying from a bogey on the 15th with a birdie after the turn and playing out the rest of the round true to par.  He finished with seven birdies in total this week.
  • Freshman William Walsh (San Mateo, Calif.) finished tied for 21st with a score of 218 (72-75-71).  He marked 11 birdies throughout the tournament, including four in the final round today.  He bogeyed the 14th, but bounced back with a birdie on the 17th to stay even at the turn.  Walsh posted another pair of birdies in the first three holes on the front and another on the eight.
  • Sophomore Joshua Koo (Cerritos, Calif.) marked a score of 220 (71-76-73) to tie for 34th.  He had four birdies in six-straight holes through the middle of the day and was good for 12 birdies and an eagle in the tournament.
  • Sophomore Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif.) finished tied for 64th with a score of 229 (71-78-80).  He had two birdies today and finished with seven in total.
  • Freshman Kristoffer Kuvaas (Houston, Texas) posted a three-day total of 231 (73-81-77) to tie for 71st.  He amassed three birdies in the final round, all of which were tabbed in his final nine holes, and put up eight throughout the week.
