LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Pepperdine men's golf team finished the second round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate in 11
th-place with a two-day score of 586 (282-304).
The Waves were tied for third after the first round at the par-72, 7,510-yard Southern Highlands Golf Club, but got off to a slow start in the second they would not be able to recover from. Pepperdine is two shots out of the top-10 heading into the third round. #15 Oklahoma (575) has a three-stroke lead for first ahead of top-ranked North Carolina.
Pepperdine will be paired with #34 Missouri and #17 New Mexico tomorrow, beginning at 9:20 a.m. on the 10
th tee.
PLAYER SCORES
- Sophomore Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz.) is tied for 11th with a 143 (68-75). He has amassed six birdies throughout the tournament, including one in the round today on hole three.
- Sophomore Joshua Koo (Cerritos, Calif.) and freshman William Walsh (San Mateo, Calif.) are tied for 45th after posting scores of 147. Koo (71-76) has amassed eight birdies, with two having come in the back half of the round today and one eagle. Walsh (72-75) has picked up seven birdies overall, leading the Waves with five in the second round.
- Sophomore Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif.) is tied for 46th with a 149 (71-78). He had two birdies in the round today on back-to-back holes on the 12th and 13th. He's produced five birdies in total.
- Freshman Kristoffer Kuvaas (Houston, Texas) is tied for 70th with a 154 (73-81). He has amassed five birdies, including a pair on holes three and four and another on 17 today.
