WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. – The 45
th annual Southwestern Invitational has concluded and the Pepperdine men's golf team finished up in 11
th-place after three rounds at the par-71, 6,800-yard North Ranch Country Club.
The Waves posted a score of 867 (284-287-296) by the end of the tournament. In the program's second time playing in the tournament, Ohio State came away with team and individual wins, beating out the runners-up in both categories by a single stroke. OSU finished with an 839 (285-273-281), defeating UNLV. The Buckeyes' Neal Shipley won the individual crown after shooting 12-under through three rounds, besting Taehoon Song from Washington by one stroke.
PLAYER SCORES
- Sophomore Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz.) tied for 17th to lead the Waves with a score of 211 (70-70-71), having shot two-rounds below par. He led the Waves with nine birdies throughout three rounds and an eagle in the second. Today, he marked a birdie on holes four and 17.
- Sophomore Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif.) finished tied for 42nd with a three-day total of 218 (70-73-75). He tallied five birdies overall, including one on the sixth hole today.
- Freshman William Walsh (San Mateo, Calif.) rallied in the final two rounds and posted a score of 219 (75-71-73) to finish tied for 47th. He was good for seven birdies throughout the tournament, including a pair on each the front and back nine of the final round today.
- Sophomore Joshua Koo (Cerritos, Calif.) finished tied for 58th with a score of 222 (72-73-77). He also tied the team-high with nine birdies, including three in the final round.
- Freshman Kristoffer Kuvaas (Houston, Texas) had a score of 226 (72-76-78) to finish in 66th-place. He posted a pair of birdies in the final round, while amassing four in total.
